Finish a Sweater You'll Actually Wear in 2026

…with a 6‑Week Guided Camp That Doesn't Let You Quietly Quit

Sweater Camp is a cozy, structured bootcamp for knitters who are tired of half-finished projects and ready to wear a custom‑fit sweater they're proud of.

Join Sweater Camp

Next cohort starts Saturday, May 2nd at 3pm Eastern
Enrollment closes Friday, April 24 at Midnight Pacific.

You probably have a sweater living in your head already.

You know the color. You've saved patterns. Maybe you've even bought the yarn.

But in real life?

  • There's a half‑finished yoke in a project bag.
  • A pattern that feels like it's written in code.
  • A vague feeling of "I'm not quite skilled enough / don't have time / will do it someday."

It's not that you can't knit.
It's that sweaters feel big, risky, and lonely.

Sweater Camp exists to close that gap between the sweater in your mind and the sweater on your body.

What Sweater Camp Is

Sweater Camp is a 6‑week guided experience where you:

  • Knit one custom‑fit sweater you actually want to wear
  • Follow a clear, week‑by‑week roadmap (no guessing what to do next)
  • Meet a supportive group of knitters who know your name
  • Get help when you're stuck, instead of frogging in frustration
  • Stay with it long enough to bind off, block, and weave in that last end

It's not a giant video course you're left to battle alone.
It's a virtual retreat, spread over 6 weeks, that fits into your real life.

Cherie Aubian Sweater

"I started this journey with no real knitting experience. With the help of The Yarnist, my camp mates, and everyone who shared their knowledge, I was able to complete my goal. I love my sweater and am very proud I was able to finish it."

— Cherie Aubian

How It Works

1

Gather Your Supplies

Knit with any yarn you want (we'll help you decide), grab your needles, and sketch a design (we'll help with that too). Use your own measurements and gauge so it fits a real human, not just the pattern model.

2

Attend the Weekly Calls (or watch the recordings)

Each week we'll teach you a new part of the sweater knitting process. Then we'll break out into small groups so you can connect with other knitters. There'll also be time to get your questions answered.

3

Share Your Progress

Engaging in the community is a key part of success. Post daily progress photos, share tips and resources you've found online, and stay inspired and motivated.

This is for you if:

  • You can knit and purl and are comfortable following simple patterns
  • You've knit scarves, shawls, or hats and want to finally step into garments
  • You've started sweaters before but never quite finished (or didn't love the fit)

Real Knitters. Real Sweaters.

Jude Rush Sweater

"Only my third sweater and first colorwork, and I feel much more confident about so many aspects of sweater knitting now. My cabin crew were so supportive, encouraging, and helpful."

— Jude Rush

Phyllis Carlyle Sweater

"I modified the body fit for my curvy pear shape and it's darn close enough. I even ripped back a raglan I started before camp because I learned better German short rows here. SCORE!"

— Phyllis Carlyle

Jennifer Dages Sweater

"This was the first time I ever did colorwork and the first sweater I made (if you don't count 40 years ago). I feel like my investment in this camp was worth it."

— Jennifer Dages

Seraphina Hunter Sweater

"It fits great! The colorwork wasn't as challenging as I thought it would be, and once I got started I flew through it. For my first attempt, I think it came out great."

— Seraphina Hunter

My goal is simple: you wearing a finished sweater you actually knit.

Nancy Magnuson Sweater

"This isn't my first sweater, but it's definitely my best knitting – I actually feel accomplished and will wear this, as opposed to the others that are sitting in a box. This was a great learning experience and I tried quite a few new things."

— Nancy Magnuson

Frequently Asked Questions

What yarn do I need and how much will it cost?

You can use almost any yarn—the program is based on your gauge and measurements, not a specific yarn.

You'll get a detailed Yarn Buying Guide immediately after enrollment with options at different price points.

Cost depends on your yarn choice and sweater size, but plan for $75-$150 for most sweater yarns.

When are the live calls and what timezone?

Two calls per week:

  • • Tuesdays at 12pm Eastern
  • • Saturdays at 3pm Eastern

Each call is approximately 90 minutes and includes teaching, Q&A, and small breakout groups (4-5 people each) for connection and accountability. All calls are recorded and available the next day if you can't attend live.

What if I can't make the live calls?

All teaching and Q&A portions are recorded and shared the next day. You'll have access to these recordings during your 90 days in the program. The only thing not recorded are the small breakout group conversations (for privacy). You can also ask questions anytime in the 24/7 community on Circle and get support there.

What if I fall behind or miss a week?

You're never behind—you're going at your own pace. You get 90 days of access (not just 6 weeks). If you need to pause during the first 4 weeks, you can use our Sweater Success Guarantee: pause your access and rejoin a future circular yoke cohort to finish.

Can I customize the sweater (size, style, etc.)?

Yes! This pattern is totally customized to you, from the design of the colorwork to the yarn that you choose. It's also possible to create different collars, sleeve shapes, and more.

What skill level do I need? Is this for beginners?

This program is designed for first-time sweater knitters, but many experienced sweater knitters still get a lot out of the program.

If you're just starting out with knitting, you can do this, but there will be a bigger learning curve. If you've knit a hat before you should be good.

We'll also provide some supplemental training for stranded colorwork technique if that's new to you.

Where is the community hosted and how does it work?

The community is hosted on Circle (accessible via web or the Circle app). You'll have access to a private section just for Sweater Camp students with 24/7 support where you can post questions, share progress, and get help from mentors and fellow knitters.

After your 90 days of private access ends, you can continue posting in our free community section. For technical issues, you'll need to email us directly rather than posting in the community.

What happens after 90 days—do I lose access?

You keep lifetime access to:

  • All course videos and lessons
  • Pattern calculator
  • Yarn Buying Guide
  • Circular Yoke Sweater Quest course
  • All bonus materials (Getting Gauge Masterclass, Knitting 911 videos, Better Blocking Bootcamp, Sweater Customization Bundle)
  • Sweater Knitting Weekend: Raglan Edition SuperPass

After 90 days, you lose access to:

  • Live calls
  • Call recordings
  • Private community section

If you haven't finished your sweater after 90 days, you can get help via email or post in our free community section, and request individual calls if needed.

Can I use this on mobile or do I need a computer?

You can access videos and community on mobile through the Circle app. For the best experience with worksheets and the pattern calculator, we recommend using a computer or tablet, but it's not required.

What if I've tried to knit a sweater before and couldn't finish?

This is exactly why Sweater Camp exists. It's not just information—it's infrastructure, accountability, and support. You get weekly calls with small breakout groups, 24/7 community when you get stuck, Knitting 911 videos for fixing mistakes, a pattern calculator that does the math for you, and live help during calls and in community.

The structure keeps you moving forward when you'd normally quit. But success requires engagement—no program works if you don't show up and use the resources.

What's your refund policy?

We offer refunds within the first 3 weeks after Camp starts (May 2). Our goal is to help you achieve sweater success, but if you feel the program isn't the right fit or you're in over your head, we'll issue a refund. Refunds must be requested via email.

What are the payment plan terms?

You can pay $220 in full or choose 3 payments of $83.33.

Payment schedule: First payment at enrollment, second payment 30 days later, third payment 60 days later.

If a payment fails, you'll have one week to update your payment method before losing access. When access is restored, you won't get additional time added—your 90-day clock continues from where it was.
