• Row 1: ch 3, draw up a loop in first sc, skip next sc, draw up a loop in next sc, (cross over the loop just picked up, draw up a loop in the 1st sc again, draw up a loop in same st as 2nd loop) twice (7 loops on hook), yo, through all loops, ch 1 (1 criss cross puff made), *draw up a loop in the last sc worked, skip the next sc, pick up a loop in next sc (cross over the loop just picked up, draw up a loop in the 1st sc again, draw up a loop in same st as 2nd loop) twice (7 loops on hook), yo, through all loops, ch 1, rep from * across, 1dc in last ch, turn.
• Row 2: ch 3, draw up a loop in the ch 1 space between the 1st dc and 1st puff st, draw up a loop in next ch 1 space between the 1st and 2nd puff st, (cross over the loop just picked up, draw up a loop in the 1st space again, draw up a loop in 2nd space again) twice (7 loops on hook), yo, draw through all loops, ch 1, *draw up a loop in last ch 1 space worked, pick up a loop in ch 1 space between next 2 puffs, (cross over the loop just picked up, draw up a loop in the 1st space again, pick up loop in 2nd space again) twice (7 loops on hook), yo, draw through all loops, ch 1, rep from * across, ending with last puff in space between last 2 puffs and space between the last puff and the tch, dc in top of tch, turn.

Repeat row 2 until you have reached your desired length.
