The Open Fan Stitch is a crochet openwork pattern which creates a fabric of staggered fan motifs. It is a great stitch choice for lace stoles and shawls.
Multiples of 10 + 6 (add 1 for base chain)
Foundation Chain: Multiples of 10 + 6 (add 1 for base chain)
Fact: Fan stitches are similar to shell stitches, but usually have a chain stitch somewhere between the post stitches. Shell stitches are made up of only posts.
Repeat rows 2 – 5 until you have reached your desired length.
