About This Stitch Pattern
The ridge check stitch is a mosaic colorwork stitch. This method utilizes strategically placed slip stitches. By pulling up a stitch of one color over a row with another color, a checkerboard effect is created. It gives the illusion of a more complicated colorwork technique that is actually quite simple to do. Only one color is ever knit at a time, making this a great colorwork stitch for beginners. Use this knitting stitch pattern in everything from blankets, to scarves, to pillows.
