Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 October 2026

This explains what personal information The Yarnist collects, why, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written plainly so you can actually check it.

Who we are

The Yarnist is operated by Yarnist Media LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States.

Our postal address is 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States, where post reaches us. The business is run day to day from Tallinn, Estonia, which is where our work is actually done.

You can reach us any time at hello@yarnist.co. We are the data controller for the information described here.

Because we operate from Estonia, the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to what we do with your information, wherever in the world you live.

Quoting you

If you write to us or post in the community, we may quote you in our marketing, with your name. Our Terms of Service set this out in full, including how to tell us not to. You can ask us to stop or to take something down at any time, without giving a reason, by emailing hello@yarnist.co.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We use these companies to run the business, and they only get what they need to do their part:

We may also share information if the law requires it, or if the business is sold, in which case we would tell you first.

Cookies and tracking

Some cookies are needed to make the site and checkout work. We also use Meta’s pixel, which tells us which of our Facebook and Instagram ads bring people to the site and helps us show those ads to people likely to be interested.

You can block the pixel and other tracking with your browser’s privacy settings or an ad blocker. The site still works if you do.

Where your information goes

We work from Estonia, and most of the companies listed above are based in the United States. That means your information is transferred out of the European Economic Area to them. Those transfers rely on the safeguards each provider publishes, which are the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe, and we honour it immediately.

You also have the right to object to how we use your information, to ask for a portable copy, and to complain to a data protection authority: your own local one, or the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate, since that is where we are established. If you are in California, you have the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, and not to be treated differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

To exercise any of this, email hello@yarnist.co. We will not make it difficult.

How long we keep it

Subscriber records are kept for as long as you want the newsletter. We clean the list regularly and delete contacts who have gone cold, so if you stop opening the emails we will eventually remove you rather than keep mailing you.

Customer and course records are kept for as long as you have access, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Children

The Yarnist is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and if the change is significant we will say so in the newsletter.
