Mock Rib Check Stitch

About This Stitch Pattern

The Mock Rib Check Stitch pattern simulates a broken rib by alternating knit stitch and knit one below. It looks similar to brioche but is easier to knit. It creates a fluffy fabric that’s great for warm scarves, blankets, and pillows.

  • Row 3: *K1, k1b; rep from * to last two stitches, k2.
  • Row 4: *K1, k1b; rep from * to last two stitches, k2.
  • Row 5: *K1, k1b; rep from * to last two stitches, k2.
  • Row 6: *K1, k1b; rep from * to last two stitches, k2.
  • Row 7: K2, *k1b, k1; rep from * to end.
  • Row 8: K2, *k1b, k1; rep from * to end.
  • Row 9: K2, *k1b, k1; rep from * to end.
  • Row 10: K2, *k1b, k1; rep from * to end.
  • Row 11: K2, *k1b, k1; rep from * to end.
  • Row 12: K2, *k1b, k1; rep from * to end.

Repeat rows 1-12 until you have reached your desired length.
