Texture Stitch

Texture Stitch Knitting Pattern (Right Side)

About This Stitch Pattern

The texture stitch uses simple knits and purls to create a fabric that is heavily…textured. By alternating between knit and purl stitches over just two rows this allover pattern has a striking visual impact. This effect is achieved by pairing a row of purl stitches with a row of knit and slip stitches. The slipped stitches create a bumpy texture with a look similar to ribbing on the wrong side. This stitch pattern also has an attractive wrong side, making it ideal for blankets and scarves.

The texture stitch is great for project with big pieces of fabric like sweaters, blankets, and pillows. You can even use it for masculine looking scarves and hats.

NOTE: While the wrong side of this fabric “looks” like ribbing, it does not behave like ribbing and will not stretch much horizontally. The slipped stitches give this fabric a tighter feel than it looks.
