The Turn Chain
About This Technique
In all crochet patterns, you are going to have a beginning and end of the row. You’ll notice that in most of these patterns you are going to chain a few stitches before we begin. Those chains are going to be equal to the height of the next stitch you are to work. This is called the Turn Chain.

Technique Instructions
In all crochet patterns, you are going to have a beginning and end of the row. You’ll notice that in most of these patterns you are going to chain a few stitches before we begin. Those chains are going to be equal to the height of the next stitch you are to work. This is called the Turn Chain.
Sometimes working the last stitch of the row into the turn chain can be a little tight. We recommend working this last stitch into the middle of the stitch, through the back loop. This gives a looser appearance, but does help in the creation of the stitch.
