About This Technique

The Slip Slip Purl Decrease is a method of shaping your fabric by removing stitches. It creates a left leaning decrease. It creates one of the cleanest and tightest left leaning decreases available. This decrease is also unique because it is formed on the wrong side of the fabric.

Technique Instructions

  • Step 1: On the wrong side of your fabric, slip the first stitch of the decrease to the working needle knitwise.
  • Step 2: Slip the second stitch of the decrease to the working needle knitwise.
  • Step 3: Place both slipped stitches back onto the main needle.
  • Step 4: Purl both stitches together through the back loop.
