Selvedge stitches are a way to create a clean, finished looking edge to your knit fabric. This method’s unique feature comes from slipping the first and last stitch knitwise on the right side of the fabric and purling them on the wrong side.
This is one of our favorite methods, not only because it’s easy to remember, but because the slipped stitches are easy to identify on the edge. Because the slipped stitches are elongated, you can more easily knit into them or seam them together.
